Southgate Pre-School has been established since 1971, we offer a wide range of learning activities for children aged between two and five years. We are currently open for five morning & afternoon sessions and five lunch club sessions Monday to Friday. Our premises are within the grounds of Hardwick Primary School (Steward Road) in Bury St Edmunds IP33 2PW with whom we work closely, please visit their website for more information as Hardwick Primary School will be the next step in your child’s education in most cases, Hardwick Primary School. Our Morning sessions currently run from 8:45am-11:45am, Lunchclub 11:45-12:30, and Afternoon 12:30-3:30pm.
Early Education Grant Funding is available for children from the term after the child turns three years old including 30 hour funding for those eligible, until that time sessions are currently priced at £17.00 per Am/Pm session and £4.50 per day for Lunchclub. We accommodate up to 15 hours funding for eligible 2 year olds with a golden ticket too.
We hope you and your child will enjoy the time spent with us, and that you find it an effective introduction for your child in socialising and mixing with other children in preperation for School and life.

Open to every family in the community
The pre-school is open to every family in the community. The waiting list is operated on a “first come, first served” basis (with regard to age). We are usually able to accommodate people who are new to the area, or who have recently applied, but please be aware that places available for children under the age of three are limited.
